Jaisalmer, Rajasthan – The 128 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Ecological, Rajputana Rifles, Shri Mohangarh, in collaboration with the District Administration, Jaisalmer, has set an extraordinary world record by planting 5 lakh saplings across seven locations in just one hour. This massive environmental drive has earned them a prestigious inclusion in the World Book of Records (WBR), United Kingdom. The saplings were planted at Military Station Jaisalmer, New Airport Link Road Ranisar, Shri Mohangarh, Ghotaru, Fatehgarh, Sam, and Hamira, engaging the local community in this green initiative. The WBR certificate was presented to Col Pratul Thapliyal, Commanding Officer of the 128 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Ecological, Rajputana Rifles, by Mr. Santosh Shukla, President and CEO of World Book of Records and Dr. Suchita Shukla, Chief Editor of Alma Times. This initiative underscores the power of community involvement in large-scale ecological efforts. Lt Gen Raju Baijal, SM, Director General of the Territorial Army; Maj Gen SS Patil, VSM, Additional Director General of the Territorial Army; Shri AK Mohanty, Additional Director General (Forests) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC); and Col Pratul Thapliyal.
