Bhagawan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital and Cancer Care Honoured by World Book of Records on 27th Foundation Day

Jaipur – The 27th Foundation Day of Bhagawan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (BMCHRC) and Cancer Care Mahila Prakoshtha was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Wednesday at the hospital premises. A moment of pride marked the programme as the hospital’s “Cancer Checkup at Your Doorstep” campaign was honoured with the prestigious World Book of Records recognition for its extraordinary contributions to cancer screening and awareness.

The certificate of recognition was handed over by World Book of Records Rajasthan Vice President Pratham Bhalla to Chief Guest Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar and Special Guest Principal Secretary of Medical, Health and Family Welfare, Gayatri Rathore. The programme saw the launch of the second mobile unit of the free cancer screening initiative under the campaign, which is aimed at reaching more people across Rajasthan and Haryana. Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar commended the hospital’s efforts in the fight against cancer, particularly breast and uterine cancers among women. He emphasized the importance of early detection and encouraged more women to participate in cancer screenings.

The minister noted that campaigns like “Cancer Checkup at Your Doorstep” play a pivotal role in saving lives by identifying cancers in their early stages. Special Guest Gayatri Rathore praised the hospital’s various welfare initiatives and its remarkable journey over the years. She lauded the innovative mobile cancer screening unit, which is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools like mammography, X-ray, and blood tests, all provided free of cost to the public. Hospital Chairman Navratan Kothari shared that the campaign has conducted 215 camps from January 2023 to October 2024, screening over 20,000 people. He reiterated the hospital’s commitment to expanding cancer care services, with plans to add more mobile units to reach a larger population. The programme was attended by hospital trustees, dignitaries, and key members of the community.
