Chitra S. Sets World Record for Smallest Warli Art Creation
Achieves Precision Artwork Measuring Just 1 cm² in 27 Minutes
Indore : Chitra S., a talented artist from Chennai, has entered the World Book of Records for creating the smallest Warli art piece measuring 1 cm by 1 cm. The intricate artwork was completed in 27 minutes and 22 seconds on September 23, 2023, using precision tools, including a 60-degree set square, a 005 nib black pen, a pro-circle protractor, and an eraser.
Warli art, known for its traditional depictions of tribal life in Maharashtra, was reimagined by Chitra on an extraordinary micro-scale, showcasing her remarkable skill and patience. Her achievement reflects her dedication to preserving and innovating traditional art forms.
The recognition ceremony took place in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, with an illustrious audience that included Mr. Simon N. Ovens DL, HM The King Charles III’s Representative from London; Spiritual Leader HH Shri Rajrajeshwar Guruji; Justice V.K. Shukla of the Madhya Pradesh High Court Bench; and Mr. Swapnil Kothari, Chancellor of Renaissance University. Prominent delegates from the United States, Switzerland, the UK, Dubai, Nepal, and other nations, alongside representatives from 25 Indian states, graced the event.
