Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India : World Book of Records has announced the inclusion of the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, situated in the picturesque region of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India, in its illustrious list. This recognition is attributed to the garden’s remarkable distinction as Asia’s Largest Tulip Garden, featuring an astounding 1.5 million tulip plants and hosting a diverse collection of 68 tulip varieties.
In a special ceremony held to mark this momentous occasion, Mr. Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, JKAS, Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Department of Floriculture, Parks and Gardens, Jammu and Kashmir, India, was presented with the certificate of inclusion by Shri Santosh Shukla, President and CEO of the World Book of Records, in the presence of esteemed dignitaries.
Nestled at an elevation of 5600 feet, against the breathtaking backdrop of the Zabarwan mountain range and overlooking the serene Dal Lake in Siraj Bagh, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is a horticultural marvel. While renowned for its extensive tulip collection, the garden also boasts an array of other exquisite flower species, including Daffodils, Hyacinths, Roses, Ranunculi, Muscaria, and Iris.
On being recognized by World Book of Records, the Department of Floriculture, Parks and Gardens, Jammu and Kashmir, India, was congratulated by Mr. Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir and distinguished Union Ministers of the Government of India. #AlmaTimes #WBR
