Rajasthan’s School Education Department Enters World Book of Records for Comprehensive Greening Initiative
Jaipur, Rajasthan —The Department of School Education, Government of Rajasthan, has been recognized by the World Book of Records for planting a staggering 14,689,809 saplings across the state as part of the “Amrit Paryavaran Mahotsav – 2024.” This massive environmental initiative took place from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on August 7, 2024, engaging 9,886,471 participants, including students, parents, personnel, and government officials. The certificate of this extraordinary feat was formally handed over to Madan Dilawar, Minister of School Education and Panchayati Raj Department, by World Book of Records official Mr. Pratham Bhalla in a ceremony. The program was spearheaded by Mr. Avichal Chaturvedi, IAS, State Project Director & Commissioner of the Department of School Education, who played a pivotal role in orchestrating the event. On this occasion, Government Secretary, School Education, Shri Krishna Kunal, Director, Secondary Education, Shri Ashish Modi and other officials were also present. The announcement of Rajasthan’s entry into the World Book of Records was made by Mr. Santosh Shukla, President and CEO of the organization. This accomplishment not only highlights Rajasthan’s commitment to environmental conservation but also showcases the collaborative efforts of the state’s educational institutions and communities in fostering a greener future. The “Amrit Paryavaran Mahotsav – 2024” stands as a testament to the state’s dedication to ecological sustainability, setting a precedent for large-scale environmental initiatives across the country.
